FOUR YEARS STRONG: Global Youth Coalition Celebrates Anniversary

The Global Youth Coalition for Road Safety celebrated its fourth anniversary last 7 July 2024.

Since its inception in July 2020, the Youth Coalition has empowered youth from across the globe to stand for road safety, sustainable mobility, and meaningful youth participation. It has supported youth improve their advocacy skills with tools created specifically for youth, implemented capacity development initiatives supported by the YOURS Academy, and created a space where they can connect with peers and make impactful changes on the ground.

As of publication fate, the Global Youth Coalition has 2,307 members from 129 countries. Each youth leader who makes up the Youth Coalition is an important part of its journey to keep roads safer for youth and other vulnerable road users.

The Youth Coalition is not alone in its efforts to support youth. Its partners, which include TotalEnergies Foundation and Michelin Corporate Foundation, have provided young leaders with resources to turn their ideas into reality.

In the last four years, the Youth Coalition was able to support 44 youth-led grassroots projects in 23 countries through the Local Actions resulting in over 23,000 people benefiting directly from the outcomes and over 550,000 others being benefited indirectly.

With the YOURS - Youth for Road Safety team behind it, the Youth Coalition was also able to train 1,500 young people on all things around road safety. Not only that, the Youth Coalition has brought over a hundred young people to international conferences and forums worldwide.

To celebrate four years of its achievements, the Youth Coalition is holding an Anniversary Event on Tuesday, 16th July, at 3 pm CET. It is open for everyone to participate in. There will also be a networking session where participants can connect with their peers.
